Okay, freaking out a bit here

I took Julie to a pediatrician today since we were referred there about the white dot on her nose. The pediatrician said it is nothing to worry about, we can have it removed if we want, but she recommends waiting until she is older. What she did notice however, is Julie has a heart murmur. Which of course sounds terrifying to me! Anything with the word 'heart' sounds very serious! She said most of the time, this is a problem that fixes itself as the child grows, but she has ordered an echo cardiogram just to be safe, which is scheduled for Sept. 22nd, but we won't get the results until her follow-up appointment on Oct. 8th. It's probably nothing serious, but of course I'm freaking out!

In happier news, Julie cut her very first tooth today!!!

I hope everything will be okay. I'm sure if it was a major concern they would get her in to the doctor quicker. Hugs to you, julie and carlos!!!

Do NOT freak out about a heart murmer. When Logan was around Julie's age, the pediatrician heard a mild murmer and told me that 9 times out of 10 the child will out grow it. By the time we were discharged from his care, so to speak, which was less than a year later... no more murmer!!!

I know that anything medical is scary with your child... trust me, I know. I had to go to the pediatrician because Logan has a big head... there is a condition that infants can have (hydrosyphalis... spelled wrong of course) that can be dangerous... I freaked out a little even though my doctor wasn't worried... and the pediatrician wasn't worried... it's a mother's nature to want her child to be 100% protected from everything. Which, of course, is completely unrealistic.

Logan had an ECG to check on his heart murmer (when he had it)... that is a little hard - lots of wires to attach to a little person... and removing them sucks (think taking off a sticky bandaid). Babies just don't like to lie still... go figure!!!

Anyways, long story short. *Try* not to freak out... I know it's heard... and I am definitely not immune to having motherly freak-outs... probably never will be. *hugs* Let us know how everything goes.

As a side note... my ultrasound is scheduled for the 22nd too... lots happening that day! :)
