New 'do for c-dub

I got my haircut on Saturday and it looks really good! I got a total of 5 inches cut off (so now it's just past my shoulders) and have layers now, the shortest is just a bit longer than my chin. I love it! My hair has life and body again!

The funny part was, my family didn't even notice I got my hair cut, but my co-workers noticed right away. 5 inches is quite a significant change!

Guess what I spent my morning doing? A tutorial for ModFlow. Yes, my exposure to that wonderful program has begun. It actually looks really cool. I'm taking a course in February. February 5-8 to be exact. I wanted to get my feet wet a little before the course, so I decided to go through the tutorial today. It was fun!

Yay for new haircuts! :D

I think learning modelling would be cool, as long as you're not pigeon-holed into doing it all the time. I think it's something that I would get tired of if I did it all day everyday, but once in a while would be cool!

Thanks for being my sounding board. Sometimes I confuse myself... :S

Ya, there is another employee that does all our modeling right now, so I would just be helping her out. I definately wouldn't be doing it all the time. I think it will be a good skill to have though.

And you are welcome, I am always here to offer my two cents! I know it sometimes helps to have someone else's take on things.

Yeah, it's very easy to be clouded by things other than common sense! Especially since, at heart, I am a people-pleaser. Sometimes I don't know when enough is enough!

That's cool that you get to help out! I did non-stop modelling for a co-op term and while the modelling itself was pretty neat, the actual program formatting was boring. My boss and I had discussed me learning some modelling (MODFLOW as well) but that got side-tracked this year by more urgent things. I would like to learn some someday though!

Every day is a new adventure with modflow...endless possibilities to learn new software that works hand-in-hand with VMOD, which is quite fun if you have the time & budget.

Good luck! What version are you using?

Hey nej, you should talk your boss into letting you take the course at the same time as me! That would be fun! ;)

We use Visual Modflow 4.1 here at the office. I think I just scratched the surface of what it can do in my tutorial. There is still lots to learn!

They are releasing a new version this month. 4.3 I think...

I can't wait!
