There was frost this morning for the first time here… I guess winter is on it’s way.
I had a most excellent weekend. Got to see lj’s new place… Wow, is it ever gorgeous! We went shopping for dresses on Saturday and definitely found some very nice ones. One in particular I absolutely loved on her. And I think all 3 of us agreed it was our favourite from Saturday’s excursions.
I got home yesterday afternoon around 3pm, so I was glad to have some time to catch up on some stuff. I did some laundry, cleaned the house a bit, and did some catching up on my financial software stuff. And I even posted some of the honeymoon pics, still more to post though. I hope to have the rest of them posted in the next couple of days.
I am also bound and determine to keep up with my exercise regime. I have been doing well in the last couple of weeks, so I want to up it a bit this week from 3 times to 4. So, this week, I am going to exercise 4 evenings, twice on the treadmill and twice using the Turbo-Jam dvds.
I’m excited about the lunch I brought today. I was getting sick of salads, so I wanted something that was healthly yet still filling so I’m not starving by the time I get home. I bought some of those already cooked steak strips and brought wraps and all the fixings: tsaziki sauce, feta, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers…. Should be YUMYUM!
In the interest of gathering some ideas, do you have some things you bring to work for lunch that are both healthy and satisfying?

We had frost too! I didn't want to get out of my nice warm bed this morning... :(
I brought yogurt parfait for lunch today: blackberries, vanilla yogurt and granola! And I'm also having an english muffin with some peanut butter. :)
I also like bringing in soups (low sodium though) with toast (we have a toaster oven here) and cheese.
I'm a fan of warm lunches in winter.

I like to bring in leftovers...yummy. The default is usually a deliciously packed sandwich (cheese & fake meat with lettuce & mustard). However, I am starting to get more into salads for lunch. Last week I put boiled egg in my salad, and used that new salad dressing spritzer...I liked the spritzer! I found that I used a lot less dressing!
Tomorrow I'll have vegetarian chili - YUM! My favouritest lunchie. I love winter cooking!

I'm feeling really stuffed right now. Maybe it's the 1.5L of water I had?
I was going to do some turbo jam tonight, but I'm having some back spasms today so I think I'll take a rest from "twisting" and all that. Going to do some treadmill or elliptical instead. :)
My lunch was AMAZING! And very filling! I'm not hungry yet. I brought some fresh pineapple to eat later, I'm going to try to hold off until around 3:30 or 4. That way I won't be hungry again until supper time.
I need to try to drink more water. Right now, I only drink maybe 1.5 litres per day, and most of that is in the evening. I need to try to drink more while I'm at work. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to go back to using some crystal light to make it more exciting.

I brought some grapes for my snack this afternoon. And some *more* yogurt. I love my calcium! :)
I'm going to hold off until between 4 and 4:30 for my snack. I don't want to be hungry while I exercise. :)
You know what I did yesterday afternoon? I watched horror movies and knit. My mom and I watched the Exorcist, Children of the Corn (I exercised through the first hour or so), Poltergeist 2, then Halloween. Talk about a movie marathon! Then I realized that I own a lot of "halloween" type movies... :)
Healthy meals...
Last winter I was really into soup. I would have soup, toast, cottage cheese and veggies for lunch and it was surprisingly filling. Now, if I can only get back to healthy eating. I had two bowls of rease peanut butter puffs yesterday afternoon. Yum, but pretty much empty calories.
I drink lots of water at work usually, my problem is remembering to drink it at home as well. Doesn't help that all of our big glasses broke. perhaps it is time to buy some new ones.
yesterday afternoon we were incredibly lazy. we laid around. had a nap, watched some TV. I had originally meant to go for a long run, but I just wasn't feeling it. So no long run for me. Just laziness ;)
