CT and I decided that we would like to have our wedding videotaped. And we know that hiring a professional would cost over $1,000 probably. So, we had an idea. We would like to purchase a camcorder (you can get good ones for around $600 and would like to have one anyways for when we have a family) and have someone tape the ceremony for us. Nothing fancy, just videotape the ceremony and maybe the speeches at the reception. CT could do all the editing and such.
Anyways, he asked one of his friends if he would be willing to do this since he videotaped one of CT’s friends weddings, and he said he would charge us $500. We were surprised since I guess we were kind of thinking that this guy would do this as a favor/wedding present for us. We, of course, would give him a thank-you gift, but we certainly weren’t expecting to have to pay $500! I guess I’m just crazy. And we can’t really ask any of the guests coming to videotape, since I think it's rude to ask a guest unless they offer. Hmmmm…

I can offer arash for you though I'm not sure how handy he is with a camcorder and there maybe more shots of me than are warrented. I'll ask him what he thinks... is it ceremony only that you are thinking of?
WOW. That's ridiculous. $500 for taping? JUST taping?
That is very sweet of you Laura! Yes, just the ceremony is what we were thinking. And maybe the speeches at the reception, but that's it. If he thinks that's too much, the the ceremony only would also be fine, that's my priority.
If you could ask Arash, that would be fabulous! We would really appreciate it!!!! But, no pressure ;) He wouldn't have to do anything fancy, no experience required. Carlos would do all the editing and such.
And if there is lots of footage of you, that's fine with me, as long as there is some of the rest of us ;)
$500... ouch! Glad you have a plan B!
