Honeymoon booked!

CT and I have booked our honeymoon – yay! We are officially going on a 7-night southern Caribbean cruise from September 16-23 with Carnival cruise lines. It leaves from San Juan, Puerto Rico and goes to St. Thomas, Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, and Antigua. I have done some research on some of these places, and I think it will be a beautiful trip. So far, we have just booked the cruise. We are going to book the flights once we figure out how many extra days we would like to spend in San Juan prior to the cruise. I’m thinking we’d leave on the 12th and have from the 12th till the 16th in Puerto Rico.

The wedding is on September 8th (exactly 7 months from today!), so we’d be back home on the 9th (we get to spend the night at the reception venue, spending the wedding night in one of their suites is included in the package). So we’d have 2 days at home after the wedding to relax and pack for the honeymoon. We may head to Toronto and spend the night there the night before our flight leaves because a lot of the hotels near the airport offer free parking for your trip if you stay with them.

There are so many things to do with the wedding stuff, it’s insane! But it’s a lot of fun to plan it all. I am enjoying it. I just take a few tasks at a time. This weekend is flowers and cake; next weekend is invitation making workshop and then hopefully another dress shopping trip with lj and nej!

Yay! Glad you got your trip booked now! Having just watched Pirates over the weekend, I can only imagine how pretty the scenery will be! :)

Did you get the room upgrade too?

Yes we did get the free room upgrade. The upgrade was within the same category, but on a more expensive deck by 2 price levels. We decided to go with a balcony room. It's more expensive than an inside room or an oceanview (just a window), but I really wanted to be able to sit on our own private balcony for our honeymoon.

And yes, I am fully expecting the scenery to be amazing. Each island is very different. Dominica will be fun with all the Pirates spots! The place where they shot the scenes with Jack as leader of that village and the giant round cages is really close to the spot where the cruise ship docks.
