Baby Age Ticker

Oh, the pain

Poor Julie is not her usual happy self right now. Her second tooth is coming in and is giving her a lot of grief! Poor girl! We have her some baby tylenol one night when she was having a particularly difficult time and that helped her sleep. I wish there was more I can do to help! She was so unhappy on the weekend that we had to cancel going to a wedding on Saturday evening. Luckily, we were only invited to the dance portion, so we didn't have to RSVP or anything, so I felt a little better. I was planning to go after we got Julie to sleep, but she didn't get so sleep until midnight that night!

On to other baby related things... we have been using cloth diapers for the last few days and I love them! I have been meaning to give them a try for awhile, and we finally are giving it a go. I got a gift certificate for a month free of our diaper service in town, so we are doing that right now and after our free month is up, I think I will buy some of my own and wash them at home (I can't see paying $110 plus tax per month for the service).

Oh, Julie calls!

$110 per month!? Wow, that is pricy. Glad you are enjoying the cloth service though. They have liners that you throw away, right? Or are yours all cloth?

Hope Julie-bear feels better soon! :)

Ya, I was shocked when I found out the price... so, I will just use my month free and then wash them at home.

These ones are all cloth, so no liner. I did get some flushable liners though that I will try when I am washing the diapers at home.

I knew some people who used exclusively cloth (they washed them all themselves I think) and they had some of the flushable liners for when they were out somewhere. Nobody wants to carry around poopy cloths! :)

For teething, here's my 2 cents...

1. Try Hyland's Teething Tablets - they may not work for Julie, as they don't work for all children, but if they do they are wonderful. They are 100% natural and can be found at most heathfood stores and some grocers (in the pharmacy).

2. For night time, we use Baby Advil instead of Tylenol as it lasts 8 hours between doses instead of 4... just a little something extra for sleep-time.

Glad to hear that you're liking cloth diapers. I know for doing it yourself at home there are lots of options - with liners, without, different brands, etc. :)
