On my drive into work this morning, I saw a guy running and he was wearing running shorts and a long-sleeve T-shirt… and it’s -20 with the windchill today! I thought that was absolutely nuts!
The countdown is at 6 days left of work including today. I really can’t wait to be done. This is a big change for me. After working here for almost 5 years, my longest break so far was the 3 weeks I took off surrounding my wedding. Multiply that by 17 and you get to how long my break will be now – 52 weeks. That is assuming I decide to take the full 52 weeks… it’s sort of a wait and see thing. I really won’t know how I feel until I get there, so we’re leaving my “return to work” date open-ended and I’ll see how I feel in the Fall. But, as far as my employer is concerned right now, I am planning to take the full 52 weeks.
I’m wondering how my transition from engineer to full time mommy is going to go… will I miss the intellectual stimulation? I know I will definitely miss the people I work with; they are absolutely wonderful. I don’t think I’ll miss the spending 40 hours a week at my desk though ;) And there is this project that I have been working on since I started this job, I definitely won’t miss that. Although it does feel really strange to pass it off to someone else since it has been my project for almost 5 years. It has caused me lots of frustration and made me want to scream and pull my hair out lately though, so perhaps it’s a good thing it can be someone else’s problem for awhile ;)
I’m really looking forward to seeing nej and lj tomorrow!

Hehe Anytime you want "adult" conversation, you can email me. We can discuss the meaning of life, the latest developments in string theory, or just not talk about poopy diapers. ;)
I'm here pretty much everyday, all day since most of my work is in the office right now. :)
Oh, and I have some funny stuff to tell you guys tomorrow, don't let me forget. I haven't posted on my blog because I already said I wouldn't. But it is rather funny. :)
I hear you on the long-term project. Sometimes, I still think about Goose Bay. I'm kind of sad that I'll never get to go again, but kind of relieved too. It's weird. :S
Yes, we could discuss string theory, although I'm afraid my knowledge on that subject is limited to what is included in the TV show "The Big Bang Theory"... it's a great show for nerds like us ;)
I can't wait to hear about the funny stuff you have to share!
Any idea what time you'll be arriving tomorrow? I want to make sure I'm home! Anytime after about 1:30pm is fine with me since I have some errands to do in the morning.
I probably will leave my house at say 1 o'clock? That puts me to your place for sometime between 2:30 and 3. I'll be bringing my movies, but I might also pick up some snacks too (I was thinking some Smartfood or pretzels, and possibly something else?) for our evening's entertainment. Is that cool? Any preference?
I just don't want you to have to go out of your way. :)
That sounds great! I am planning on picking up some snacks too, so we'll be all set ;)
Carlos is trying to get that movie with the guy from Shaun of the Dead... movie called "How to Alienate People" or something similar. So we may have that to add to our list of options of movies to watch!
Bahaha "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People". That movie looks hilarious!
I still have to get Hot Fuzz someday. I loved that movie as well. Simon Pegg (Shaun) is playing Scotty in the upcoming Star Trek movie too. :)
