Sheesh...

I just got the following email from my admissions representative at the PEO:

"References responses have been received and your file will be forwarded for an experience assessment for consideration of licencing. You will be advised within the next 8-10 weeks if any further information is required or if you have been approved for licencing."

I didn't know it was going to take another 2 months! I thought I would hear in March for sure. I don't understand why they couldn't have been screening my experience summary at the same time as waiting for my references, but I guess they have a certain system that they use. Sheesh! So, at this rate, I won't hear back until May! Oh well, I guess another 2 months isn't a huge deal, I'm just getting impatient!

Yeah, that's a long process isn't it? Bureaucracy! What a *wonderful* thing.

I guess I should fill out my EIT forms, so I can be an EIT by sometime in July... ;)

hehe, ya. I know when I got my EIT, it only took them 2 months to get back to me on that. So, I think you should hear back within a more reasonable time frame on that one.

The fact that Canada Post lost my reference set me back about a month in total. Oh well. At least they have everything they need now. Why on earth it takes them 2 months to review an 8-page experience summary is beyond me. And why they can't review that AT THE SAME TIME as waiting for my references, I don't know.

I guess I just have to be really patient!

What sucks even more is we're doing our annual reviews in late March and I was hoping to have my P.Eng. by then so I could ask for a raise! Guess not!

C - Ask for it anyways. Say "As you know, I have applied for my P.Eng. License. I believe this adds value to the the job that I can do, and feel that I should have a raise because of it. You could even ask for it to take effect after the PEO gets it's act together.

Another benefit to having it by March 31 is that you could have signed all your reports with your stamp!!!
