Last night, CT did a load of laundry in our new washer/dryer! We’re nerds, so we were down in the laundry room watching the action for awhile. We realized that although the washer and dryer have an “estimated time remaining” indicator, it is just that - estimated. The washer automatically senses how much clothes is in there and adjusts the water level accordingly. So, I think since it was a full load, it took a little longer than the estimated 54 minutes. The dryer, same thing. It has a moisture sensor, so it automatically senses when the clothes are dry and stops then (but sill tumbles intermittently without heat to prevent wrinkles). The estimated time was 35 minutes, but it took a little longer. All in all, we figured it took almost 2 hours to do a full load (wash and dry), which is less than half the time it took us previously. So, we are quite pleased! And I know we’ll see a difference on our electricity bill!
I’m going to do my first load of laundry tomorrow night (since I’m out at WW tonight). Speaking of WW, I have no idea how my weigh-in will go tonight. I already know that my scale at home is different from the one at WW. It’s hard to tell. I chose to go a little overboard for Easter, but I counted everything and only went a couple points over on my flex. So, I think I did well considering the 2 massive Easter feasts. I even gave my chocolate bunny to CT because it wasn’t worth the points to me. If I’m going to have chocolate, I want to have the good, expensive chocolate and not waste my points on the cheap chocolate bunny. So, I am proud of myself for my efforts this week regardless of how the weigh in goes. I have a feeling I will be around the same as last week, maybe even down a bit. I doubt I’ve gained. I will find out tonight!
In other news, CT and I have been married for exactly 200 days as of today! Yes, I keep track ;)

I feel the same way about chocolate, but unfortunately, my parents bought us all Lindt dark chocolate bars... mine is all gone.
But I'm down 1.8 lbs this week, so whatever! :)
That's awesome, way to go! My losses are always quite small, half a pound here, maybe 1 pound there, mixed in with weeks of small gains. In the last 8 weeks, I have lost a total of 6 pounds. Which is quite slow, but I'm just glad to be heading in the right direction again. Only another 3 pounds or so and I'll be back to the weight I was at the wedding!
Oops, I've been on WW for 9 weeks now, not 8.
I think I would rather lose weight slowly since it's more likely to stay off that way. It's just hard to stay motivated sometimes since the progress is so slow! That's why I'm glad I paid in for 4 months up front.
Oh, my losses are all wonky. I hit a plateau for months, then I'll suddenly lose like 5 lbs in two weeks, then another few months of nothing.
The last time I lost any weight was when I dropped from 188 to 183 last November. Now I'm at 180.8.
So I definitely feel your pain. On average, I've lost 7.2 lbs in 7 months. That's only a lb per month.
I keep telling myself that maintenance should be a breeze after this. I'm good at maintaining... LOL
Actually, I just checked and I've lost a net of ONE lb since January 7th.
So you're losing faster than I am. :)
Ya, but you've lost 35 pounds and I've lost 6... big difference there!
But I think we both look super sexay!
Ah, but the 35 lbs has taken me 19 months so far. You'll get there. :)
I found when I had more to lose, it came off faster. Now that I'm within 25 lbs of my goal weight, it's a lot slower.
Of course, I am being somewhat silly, since I'm definitely being more "lax" with the program. I need to kick my own arse back into gear. My next goal was to be at 165 by June 16th. That gives me 2.5 months to lose 15 lbs.
I really need to exercise more regularly and be diligent about my calories. I would love to be at my final goal for LJ's wedding.
Ya, I know, slowly but surely. I was on WW online for over a year and GAINED weight, so there is defintely something else at work. I'm thrilled with my 6 pounds so far, and would like to lose another 20 or 25. All in due time. I'm fine with the weight loss being slow as long as I keep losing and don't gain it all back.
Just wait 'til you have a baby... LOL, back to square one! But that will be SO worth it. :)
I'm going to work out tonight after supper, but I'm undecided on whether it will be a run, or some biking and weights. Ah, choices. ;)
Ya, well the way I figure it, when I have a baby, I'll be on mat leave for a year so I'll have loads of time to take the baby for walks! That's what my mom did with me, she met a friend on a streetcorner every morning at 9am and they walked for 3 hours... every weekday! That would get rid of the baby weight pretty quickly! Because I think I'll be one of those unlucky ones and gain weight all over when preggo.
I'm going to have to exercise lots this weekend since we're having a WrestleMania party and I want to be able to have some snacks! Thank goodness for flex points!
That's very true. And if you're used to exercising pre-baby, you probably won't gain as much as if you were a couch potato! :)
I'm with you on the flex points. I'm hoping to earn at least 4 tonight. Then I can have my fig newtons for dessert! Yum! :D
