I realized at 4:40pm yesterday that I had forgotten my WW membership book at home (and it is needed to weigh in). I usually keep it in my purse all the time, but I cleaned out my purse on Saturday so I would lighten the load for carrying around the Science Centre. So that was one of the things I took out, but I didn’t realize it until yesterday. It would have been so easy to just say screw it and skip the meeting. But, I left work as soon as I realized this, rushed home to get my membership book, and got to WW just before the meeting.
And I am ever glad I went because I lost 2.5 pounds this week, bringing my total weight loss to 5 pounds! Which means I got my first 5 pound star! I am so proud of myself! I thought I would be down this week since I gained a bit last week, but I didn’t think it would be that much! I have lost 5 pounds in 4 weeks and I am so pleased!!! This finally seems to be working. And now that I am seeing success, that motivates me to keep going.

2.5 pounds???? Congrats!!!
Yes, but last week I gained a pound. So this week, it was like I lost that pound I gained, plus 1.5 more. Which really was amazing since I ate out (lunch and dinner) on Saturday and Wednesday. I just counted every single thing I ate and didn't go over on my flex points at all.
I was so pleased to get my first 5 pound star!
Only another 5 to go until I'm back to the weight I was at my wedding.
Yay for you! You are doing awesome!!! :D
Do you think the meetings are keeping you more motivated? More focused?
The meetings are helping for several reasons:
1. I know that every week I have to actually go there and weigh-in. Mom and I do this together, so I can't skip it. That accountability has really helped. When I was just weighing myself at home, I think I let myself slip too much because I just thought I could do better next week.
2. I love the tracking sheets they give you every week. I love the way they are set up and I like tracking on paper much better than on the computer. I think on the computer, I let myself go over on my points too much and I didn't track everything (especially on weekends). Whereas now that I'm using the paper tracking sheets, I have literally counted every single morsel of food I've eaten in the last 4 weeks.
3. I love having Wednesday as my weigh-in day. Keeps me motivated to track on the weekends too. And that's when I usually use most of my flex points, so I have a few days after the weekend before I have to weigh in.
4. At the meetings, it's usually a most of the same people each week, so we have a sense of "we're in this together" and we all want to see each other succeed. I like feeling part of the group.
5. And of course, the meetings offer good ideas and motivation to keep going. We celebrate successes and if I gain in a particular week, going to the meetings helps keep me motivated to work even harder the next week.
So, I am really glad I decided to do this! I paid for 16 weeks up front (it is cheaper per week if you buy several weeks at a time), so I am "locked in" to do this for 4 months.
Good for you! Keep up the great work!
