Baby Age Ticker

Why must you tempt me?

So, I went to the kitchen to fill up on my normal bottle of water from the water cooler and there on the table sits several doughnuts. They are the jelly-filled kind, so I can easily resist those since I’m not fond of them. However, there was also a paper bag that caught my eye. So, I went over to investigate and inside was a chocolate éclair! Oh my! My favorite! The combination of white doughnut with chocolate icing and whipped crème I find impossible to resist. So, I grabbed it without much thought and have been slowly eating it for the last several minutes.

Miranda from Sex and the City said it best “I’m sorry, but this is just worth being fat for. It just is.” Now, I by no means consider myself “fat”, although I am heavier than I wanted to be for my wedding. But I think I am the ideal weight for my body because no matter what I do, I cannot seem to lose an ounce. So, I have come to terms with the fact that maybe I’m just where my body wants to be and I’m “trying” to be happy with that. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to still try to lose that seemingly impossible 10 pounds. I certainly will keep trying, but I am content with where I am.

And I’m also telling myself that I will need the extra tummy fat for when I am housing a baby, which will hopefully be sometime in the next couple of years ;)

Mmmm! Sounds yummy!

It's definitely frustrating when our bodies don't conform to what we think they should be. Maybe instead of trying to lose weight, you could just focus on toning parts of your body? I think that's going to be my biggest goal for the next few months. Rather than focusing on the scale (which isn't really moving these days) I'm going to try to incorporate more weight training. I figure it might also help me with loose skin (which I definitely do NOT want! Ack!).

Yup, I think you're absolutely right. I think it's more important for me to try to tone up rather than just concentrate on the scale so much.

What types of weight training are you planning to do? I guess I want to find things that I can do at home. Turbo-jamming is a good start, I think, but I also want to incorporate some heavier weights as well.

I'm probably going to join the gym that my mom did this fall. As much as I like being able to workout at home, I don't have the weight machines and free weight selection that I want for a good weight routine. For now, I'm following a very simple plan from www.sparkpeople.com (They have a very similar program to WW, but you can track your calories, and they will come up with a workout plan for you depending on your goals) and the best part? It's 100% FREE! :)

I'll have to check it out. I am considering cancelling WW since I have been on it for a year and I am almost the exact same weight as when I started. Not cool. I don't need to pay $20 a month for no results.

If I like the site you mentioned, maybe I'll start using that one instead since it's free!!

Yeah, the thought had crossed my mind. The main thing that I like about the WW is the points tracker and the message boards. I can use the message boards for free though, and the points tracker isn't hard to do for yourself when you know the formula... which I do! :)
