Enjoyable day off yesterday

I was in Toronto yesterday. I took mom and CT to a leafs game as a birthday present for both of them. What an exciting game! The leafs won and it’s a good thing too, otherwise their playoff hope would be over. I am losing my voice a little from all the screaming I did last night. It was great! Before the game, we met up with CT’s cousin (the best man) and his wife for dinner. It was a good time!

We also went to Costco on our way to Toronto and I decided to buy myself an ipod. I have been wanting one for awhile now, and I was able to sell my old mp3 player to my mom, so I used that money towards my ipod. I can’t wait until I get home tonight and I can charge it up and figure out how to use it ;) Eventually, I would like to get one of those speaker/stereo systems where you can plug your ipod into. I saw one at Costco where you can use your ipod with it, and it also has radio and plays cds. Something like that would be nice. It will be awhile before I can afford that though, so I have some time to decide what I want ;)

I was a little worried about leaving Smokey home alone for 12 hours yesterday, but when we got home, he was as happy as could be. No problems at all. The vets office called yesterday just to see how he’s doing, so I am going to call them back today to let them know he is doing great! I think I can finally start to relax. He’s been home for almost a week now, and seems to be back to his normal self. He is still going small amounts at a time, but he is no longer struggling at all, he is in and out of the litterbox in 10 to 15 seconds. I am so glad that he’s doing so well! He’s still at higher risk to re-block for about another week or so (of course he is at risk to re-block for his whole life), but I think this is all behind us. I will make sure to keep him on the special urinary tract food for the rest of this life, so hopefully this never comes back!

I'm probably the only one that will respond to this blog that isn't happy the Leafs won! They are only 1 point behind Montreal for 8th place in the east. Grrr... Montreal must win their last two games (Thursday & Saturday).

I just checked the schedule and the Habs' Saturday game is against Toronto! Assuming both Montreal and Toronto win their Thursday games, the fate of the 8th place playoff spot could rest entirely on that Saturday game! Oh my!

Yes, I am well aware of the battle for the 8th spot between toronto and the habs. It is going to come down to these final 2 games!!!! YIKES!

Go leafs :)

As much as I dislike him, I have to give McCabe some props.

niks, no worries, I didn't realize TO would push out the habs. I chear for both teams equally, personally, I'd prefer to have more canadian teams in the playoffs and that is pretty much it.

Well, maybe if the Rangers lose their next 2 games... ok, maybe not...

Either team has to face Buffalo in the first round and will lose, so I guess I don't care. :)

How much was your iPod and which one is it? I've been thinking of getting one too!

Ya, you're right nej. Even if the leafs pull off winning the next 2 games and make it into 8th, they would have to play buffalo first round, yikes! You never know though, they could still win!

I decided to go with the ipod nano 8 GB. It was $279 at costco (it's usually $299 other places). I was thinking about going for the 4GB instead since it was $219, but I thought for the extra $60, I could double the capacity to 8GB which is all I'll ever need!

I wanted the nano because it's nice and sleek and is 100% skip-free (I want to use it for exercising sometimes), unlike the ipod video. I guess they have different types of memory. And I like the look of the ipod nano. I got the black one because I wanted it to look good if I do decide to get a stereo system that is compatible with ipod, but I am thinking about getting "skins" on ebay (they are about $3 each) and then I can "dress it up" in any colour I like and the skin helps to protect it.

There are so many accessories you can get, it's insane. I would like to get a car adapter so I can listen to my ipod with my car stereo speakers. I have seen those on ebay for about $30.

Yeah, there are way too many choices in iPods out there. I don't think I can spend the money on something that nice just yet. I am extremely tight with my money between now and august! However, I might buy a cheaper one (with less memory) in the meantime. I'll treat myself to a really nice one when I reach my goal weight! :)

My brother was telling me that Mazda could install a port in my car for an iPod. No idea how much that costs though! Probably would go cheap and just buy the adaptor. :)

I agree with LJ... whether or not I like the Leafs, I still would rather see them AND the Habs in the playoffs rather than American teams. It looks like only 4 Canadian teams will be making the playoffs this year - providing Calgary doesn't screw up in this last week!

What kind of an ipod did you get? I got one a few years ago and love it! I download book recordings and listen to it while I'm cleaning up.

I'm glad to hear that smokey is doing better.
