I had a good weekend. One of CT’s friends came up for a visit (he’s in Toronto). He is going to be one of CT’s groomsmen, and I had not yet met him, so it was nice to finally meet him. He brought his girlfriend, so we hung out for a bit at our house, then went bowling and out for dinner. It was a lot of fun.
Yesterday, I went to my parent’s house for a bit since I had to do some haircuts, then I had a meeting with my grandma about the party next weekend. Saturday is the surprise “congrats on completing your MBA” party for my mom. Turns out my grandma is going to help out by bringing some food, so that will be nice. Less for me to do. I have to order the cake in the next couple of days, and then I think it’s just small things after that. Balloons, a banner if we can find one, food, and punch. Should be a good party! I hope lots of people show up!
CT and I also went to CAA on Saturday to get some more info. on cruises. It turns out there are 2 different cruises leaving on the same day from San Juan with slightly different itineraries. I think we are still going to go with our original pick because it has one more port it stops at, and it goes to St. Lucia, which I have heard lots of people rave about. My grandma said it is the nicest place she’s been in the Caribbean, and she’s been all over. So our trip to CAA just basically solidified in our mind what we want to do. 4 or 5 days in San Juan, Puerto Rico from September 11th or 12th, and then a 7 day southern Caribbean cruise (with stops in St. Thomas, Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, and Antigua) from September 16th to 23rd. That’s the plan! We’d have 2 or 3 days at home after the wedding before the honeymoon, which I think will be nice because right before the wedding, I’m sure I’ll be busy. So, I won’t even have to pack for the honeymoon until after the wedding. And we’ll have a few days to catch our breath and then go on our honeymoon.

Sounds like an awesome trip! The couple of days between the wedding and the honeymoon will be good so you guys can take time to pack and relax a little before you leave.

Really lj? I hadn't even heard of that island until we started looking into cruises. What is it about Dominica that makes you want to go there?

Yes, Dominica is different than the Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic is half an island (the other half is Haiti) south of Cuba and west of Puerto Rico. Dominica is an island in the string of islands including Guadeloupe, Matinique, St. Lucia, Barbados, etc.
Dominica is where they filmed a large portion of the Pirates of the caribbean 2. think where the head hunters lived and where the crazy sword fight was (when will, norington and jack were fighting for the keys). I fell in love with it when AF and I watched the special features.
That's so cool! That explains why they have an optional day-long Pirates of the Carribean "booze cruise" as an excursion during the cruise from that Island!
