For those of you who are now very confused, I am a fan of Kalan Porter (winner of Canadian Idol). I am going to see him in concert tomorrow. I will have to let you know how it is; I'm sure I'll be surrounded by screaming 14 year old girls. Sigh, I think I may be getting to old for this.
But, I'm not too old yet! I just found out that Kalan is performing at the Festival of Lights (aka "the Festi") this summer. For those of you who don't know what this is, it's a free festival that runs on wednesdays and saturdays throughout the summer in Peterborough. It is outside, completely free, just bring your own lawn chair, and it's followed by an illuminated boat show and fireworks. It's actually quite cool; people flock from far and wide to Peterborough for it. They've had some big names, I saw Great Big Sea awhile ago. This year, the only bands of interest to me are: Kalan Porter, Thousand Foot Krutch (who I have loved for at least 6 or 7 years, I have all their albums and they are from around Peterborough but live in California now), Tom Cochraine, and Beatle-mania.
